Timepieces MASSMOCA
A series of nine drawings relay and embody patterns of movement based in local and regional geologies throughout the northern Berkshires region, from observation and improvisation of feedback cycles, loops, waves, gesture drawing methods, and similar natural patterns. Media include silverpoint, acrylics, locally-sourced graphite, mica, and meteorite on watercolor paper, 18″x24″ inches. These artworks were made during an artist’s residency at MASSMOCA, in North Adams.
The drawings have been vector-mapped and digitally animated to create a slow-moving animation, that you can see here: https://youtu.be/ygHtFWLiEpM
These artworks may be considered an ongoing meditation on the ancient philosophical notion of change, or ‘panta rhei,’ meaning ‘everything flows.’
