Fusions is a perpetual artwork that is constantly subject to erasure, reworking, revision, and visual changes – fusing together layers of movements across time. A 36″ x 36″ recyclable aluminum panel acts as the substrate for patterning in graphite and erasures, which are made in daylight during one day’s gesture drawings of oscillating patterns often experienced in nature, such as in eddy currents, wingbeats of birds, waves, the movements of tectonic plates, and more. Each phase consists of several iterations that are recorded and then animated to create calm, meditative digital videos.
